- Well, I use mine for software development and a bit of music.

- JR-Comm will work with it, as will many other comm programs. There are
- still a lot of old software packages floating around which support
- AmigaDOS 1.3. Some, like my JACOsub video titling software, supports
- 1.3, 2.0, and 3.0 all at once (my code contains lots of if statements
- for OS version checking).

- I've been able to run pretty much everthing that interested me. Of
- course, it helps if you've upgraded the A1000 to use 2.04 ROMs. I have a
- little board called KwickStart II in mine, which lets me use 2.04 ROMs,
- and it also lets me boot up the old 1.3 way if I want.

- Well, 2.1 will, with the 2.04 ROMs. I understand there is a way to load
- 2.04 from disk, similiar to 1.3, but I don't know how it's done.

- Ick. I'd give it a hard disk. I use an old 30 meg C-Ltd hard disk
- hooked up to a Microbotics 2 meg RAM expansion which contains a SCSI
- controller. I'd hate to go back to floppies. Especially since I use the
- Lattice/SAS C compiler, which is impractical to run from anything but a
- hard disk.

- Mine gets used pretty heavily. For the past 3 years it's been used
- mostly as a development platform for my JACOsub software, which has
- been more successful than I imagined it would be (I get a registration
- check in the mail every month or so). About 2-3 years ago, I was using
- it extensively with PageStream to publish a fanzine for the Japanese
- Animation Club of Orlando. At the time, PageStream was unmatched in the
- DOS/Windows world, and none of us had Macs, so we used Amigas. Mine was
- used for final publication because I had a laser printer on it at the
- time.
